In this workshop we took a look
at production planning and shooting schedules. These are two very important
aspects people tend to overlook during planning stages. During the lab I
managed to learn a lot about this topic.
I learnt the best time to start planning for my production would be right after the script, once the script is finalized then it is time to start planning. The script is the main base of the whole shoot, so without this it will make everything difficult. Good planning skills are really helpful as it would mean you are able to save time and by saving time you are able to save a lot of money.
Budgeting is also very important, once you know what your budget is, it is best to keep within that limit, but this would be very easy once you have mastered the planning stage.
Location is another key factor, as you will need permission for most places, and the locations would need to be used at certain times of the day, so it is very important to get timing right with the locations.
without going on for too long I was able to learn that by laying out your plans ahead of time it makes the whole process run smoothly and easily, also by sticking to time limits you are well within your budget to go onto making something great.
